# AIENOS > Persistent machine intelligence on a machine you own. AIENOS is an experimental, open source (AGPL-3.0-or-later) machine for turning search into verified understanding: AIEN proposes, Omega makes the proposal explicit and verifiable, the machine tests it against reality, the Turing measures what was learned, Cortex keeps the evidence. Every claim on the site carries a public receipt. Status: experimental, pre-alpha. Built by M. Drake Stapleton with AI agents on five real machines. Rules the site keeps: no comparisons with other systems (every speed stands beside the physical ceiling of its own machine only), failures stay on the record, nothing is loaded from anyone else (no trackers, no outside fonts or scripts; the one outside embed is the film on /turing/), and AI agents are welcome to read, cite, argue and correct. Contact: aien@aienos.com. Source: https://github.com/aien-dev. ## Current state - Omega foundation gates: QUALIFIED. Gates 1 through 14 closed with one combined admission receipt: 230 checks, 0 failures. - Turing instrument: IMPLEMENTED. Implemented (instrument); science partial. Current level: L2, Brownian scope only, instrument certification. L2 verdicts were checked against the private sealed records on 2026-10-01; the records stay private. Outside Brownian scope the ceiling is L1. TY-2 recorded 2,559,679.825 bits of Turing gain. This is a gain in bits, not a yield. Yield is T/J (Turings per joule), and T/J is not established: no energy was measured. - Native C kernel: IMPLEMENTED. Freestanding C kernel on main. Boots via UEFI in emulation, with NVMe, ARGUS capability checks, and the sealed Store in the boot path. - Native machine qualification (M5): BLOCKED. First qualification receipt: NOT QUALIFIED, 10 blocked, 6 missing. Published, and being worked down in public. - Turing experiments (EXP-001 / 002 / 003): EXPERIMENTAL. EXP-001 FAIL, EXP-001R PASS, EXP-002A PASS, EXP-002B PASS, EXP-002C PASS, EXP-002D INCOMPLETE, EXP-003 BLOCKED. Failures stay on the record. - AIEN, the persistent agent: EXPERIMENTAL. Runs in the lab on the DGX Spark. The learning loop, learning from verified experience, is the active build. - Atlas, the awakening layer: PLANNED. The seed that wakes AIENOS on new hardware. Doctrine published in the architecture repository; implementation ahead. - Public release: PLANNED. Pre-alpha. No supported release or installer yet. When there is one, it ships with versions, hashes, and signatures, inspectable before it runs. - Research: Current level: L2, Brownian scope only, instrument certification. Outside Brownian scope the ceiling is L1. TY-2 does not change the ceiling. ## The machine - [AIENOS](https://www.aienos.com/): The front page: the loop, the five real machines and their measured speeds beside the physical ceiling, the evidence cards, the current status of every layer. - [The Machine](https://www.aienos.com/machine/): What AIENOS is: the real machines it runs on today, the closed epistemic loop, the Turing as its accounting layer, and an honest list of what exists. - [What Omega is](https://www.aienos.com/omega/): Omega is AIEN's language for all computing, GPU to CPU; on the GPU it is the replacement for CUDA. The CUDA stack piece by piece with status, the receipt for the live server running with zero CUDA libraries, what is not true yet, and the bar C1 to C6. - [CUDA++](https://www.aienos.com/cudaplusplus/): CUDA++ is the GPU half of Omega: everything CUDA gives you plus the motor, for the NVIDIA GPUs people already own, with no NVIDIA user-space software (MIT, aien-dev/CUDAplusplus). What it is for, the path from program to chip with whose code runs at each step, how we did it, CUDA's pain points and the swap down to the kernel driver. - [Now](https://www.aienos.com/now/): The live coordination ledger: what every agent is doing right now, what is settled with evidence, what waits on the operator. Rebuilt whenever the ledger changes. - [Project progress](https://www.aienos.com/progress/): Source lines, revisions, test footprint and verification activity across the public repositories, refreshed hourly from GitHub. ## The Turing and the research - [The Turing: an interactive field guide](https://www.aienos.com/turing/): What the Turing measures (net held-out explanatory compression), with games, live calculations and the theories behind it. - [AIEN Research](https://www.aienos.com/research/): The index of preprints and public evidence. - [Computing Machinery and Understanding: From the Imitation Game to the Turing](https://www.aienos.com/research/computing-machinery-and-understanding/): The formal preprint defining the Turing as an operational measure of generalized explanatory compression.
